Treasurer’s Report:

  • Taxes Paid
  • Website Paid
  • Patrol Paid for 2006/2007
  • Balance is $6,200

 Trail Days:

  • Post Cards – sent
    • NOTE – One change to schedule after postcards were sent – May 19 HP trailwork moved to May 12th
  • See schedule on website (http://www.nsnemba.org/TrailWork.htm ) for exact Trail Days dates and details (the following are highlights)
    • Ward Hill Project – June
    •  National Trails Day in association with Essex County Green Belt (open to public) at Tompson Reservation, Gloucester
  • Money to be spent on materials for bridges and signs/blazing this year

 Blazing at Harold Parker (Dan Streeter has a rough draft of the map):

  • DCR Pushing/Expecting
    • Open Discussion - Send Suggestions to Dan S., post on Website for input
      • Color Coded by Loop, Difficulty, or Use?
      • Numbering Trail/Intersections DCR Preferred (NEMBA prefers color codes)
      • Multiple Use (Hike/Walk, Bike, By Color/Loops)
      • Maps at Trail Heads (example: Jenkins Lot to Headquarters Loop)
      • Signage Distance and Time by Activity
      • Signage for Difficulty
      • Signage at Main Intersections with Directions
      • Signage by Description Not Numbers (example: Jenkins Lot to Headquarters Loop)
      • Signage by Use
      • Color Coded for Inbound/Outbound

 Ward Hill Trustees:

  • Monthly trail days beginning May 5th 
  • Good opportunity to generate goodwill with Ward Hill Trustees

  • Major Project: redo boardwalk
  • Northshore Website will post Ward Hill dates that do not conflict with Northshore’s own trail maintenance events

Northshore Calendar Submitted

Regional Summit Meeting:

  • Date to be determined
  • Open to Northshore Members, pending announcement

Board of Directors Meeting:

  • Waivers will be required for insurance purposes on:
    •  Trail work
    • Advertised rides (‘Single Tracks’)

Skills Class/Clinic with JustBill (Bill Piotte):

  • Northshore will do in conjunction with Greater Boston Chapter, weekdays in Middlesex Fells
    • Some clinics will be held at Northshore locations (TBA)
  • Some weekend clinics will be scheduled also (TBA)

 Thursday Night Ride Series:

  • Holding pending weather/trail conditions
  • See mailing list/website for updates

 Logging (Harold Parker):

  • To finish by July per contract; loggers not expected to return after that
  • Possible trail day in the logged area - to be determined
