North Shore NEMBA June 19, 2008 Meeting Minutes

Held at Andover MA, NSNEMBA Member Dave McCrimmon residence

Attendees: Fred White, Frank Lane, Ray DeMarquez, Dave McCrimmon, Lee Hollenbeck, Tim Willis, Harry Ayscough, Herb Beherrell, Kirk Goldsworthy, Scott Merloni, Dan Streeter

 
1.  Ride was at Harold Parker (HP). 

Approximately 12 riders which were split into two groups.  A good time was had by all!

 

2.  May Minutes were approved

 

3.  Treasurers report received via email from NSNEMBA Treasurer, Ron Corporon.  Balance approximately $7,500. There is one outstanding invoice due for wood for the last trail day.
 
4.  Trail days report:

·          To date
4/20 HP Trail cleanup by Campgrounds and board walk rebuild was completed
5/4  Thompson St Reservation, Rt 133, Gloucester.  Connector trail built in cooperation with Essex County Greenbelt, Diesel Bikes, and Sinister bikes was completed
6/7 Willowdale Connector trail from Essex County Greeenbelt property and linking to Willowdale State Park was completed
6/14 Cancelled. State Approval pending

Fall trail work
TBA pending state approval
Suggestions: HP reroute around Jenkins Road pits
Ward Reservation boardwalk is an ongoing project; volunteers needed the last Saturday of every month
Essex County Greenbelt/Diesel Bikes - more information is needed
Greenwood Reservation - difficult to get approvals as there are many landowners, some of them private.

 

5.  2008 Calendar Review:
Chapter rides Monday and Thursdays weekly, see website for details
Next Chapter Meeting on August 24th @ Fred White’s house in Rockport

- ride in Dogtown at 2 pm

- meeting afterwards at 4:30 pm
 
Wicked Ride:
New chairmen
Dave and Steve replacing the departed Sandy Bray (who did an  outstanding job, thank you Sandy!)

 

D&S working on having the following for the 2009 ride:


   Vendors (1)
   Luna Chicks
   Led rides
   Food and beverage
   

Note: There were more than 300 riders last year.
 
Donations made by the chapter general fund this year
  Essex County Greenbelt
  Trustees of the reservation

 

Also, a donation to the Mass DCR for Harold Parker’s Jenkins Road parking lot improvements was discussed, pending DCR approval
